A Mason-Dixon Memory was written by Clifton Duncan Davis. Clifton Duncan Davis (born October 4, 1945) is an American actor, singer, songwriter, minister, and author. The story is about Dondre Green's experience. He's an African American and was not allowed to join the golf club because of racism. Dondre let no more racial discrimination exist in this world, so he went to The White House and visited Lincoln, then learned about the American Civil War. It makes him want to stop racism more. Finally, through perseverance, he defeats racism and creates Equality for all races. The story explains how racism and discrimination affect an individual's life, the importance of courage, and the power of friendship.

Racism can make an individual lose confidence and positive emotion, but it can never destroy a person with determination and ambition. Racism can make an organization hate, discriminate and isolate a person who's a different race from the organization but innocent. Finally, the group of people will offer him negative emotions to destroy a person. Dondre Green is an African American who was not allowed to join the golf club. At the end of the school year, they went on a field trip, but he was lonely and couldn't go into the park because the sign said only for Caucasians.Through this experience, Dondre Green suffered racism even in his school. And during the field trip, he got severely unfair treatment. He didn't collapse. On the contrary, It planted the seed in his heart that all people in this world should be treated fairly. Although racism can affect an individual's life severely, these inhumane events will finally prevent and solve by a hero with determination and ambition.

Friendship can offer individuals more power from teamwork instead of doing something alone.Friendship can help individuals make an organization with their friends, undertake the stress and negative emotion together, and enjoy the good times together. Finally, they will be successful through teamwork and sticking together. For instance, Dondre Green created a pint-size revolution with his African Americans who also suffered racism and discrimination and became braver against the government and spoke up for the African Americans, and they finally succeeded. Dondre Green is a person that made many African American friends and led them against the governments instead of holding back when they were bullied and got unfair treatment. In a sense, Dondre Green made African Americans more powerful. The power of a group of people is always stronger than the power of one person. They can support and encourage each other through cooperation.

Courage can offer individuals the power to challenge authority and speak up for innocent civilians. Courage can make individuals braver and more just than daring to challenge and question. powerful and unfair forces. Even if it will give individuals an adverse effect, still, they are  willing to sacrifice themselves for the sake of their fellow men and women. For example, Dondre Green led his group to start a revolt against the government. Still, the influence of their small organization needed to be more to attract the government's attention, so they went to visit Lincoln and shared the same goal. Finally, they succeeded. This event proves that Dondre Green is a person with courage. Regardless of his own future, he insisted on fighting against racial discrimination, but good people will be rewarded in the end. He finally beat the racial discrimination and joined the golf club. The power of courage can help an individual save others in order to become a hero who will be commemorated by the civilians.

In conclusion, A Mason-Dixon Memory explored racial discrimination can make individuals be isolated and have more emotional challenges. Furthermore, the story also highlights that friendship can offer individuals the power of teamwork and help each other, finally succeed together.  Additionally, the novel underscores the importance of courage, which can make an individual braver and be courageous to challenge, finally get rid of an evil for the people. Through Dondre Green's experience, being a person with enough courage and leading friends to challenge and make a revolution to the racist government can retrieve the fairness that the innocent African American civilians should have.
