What Does Highly Advanced Science Bring Us

The story there Will Come Soft rain by Ray Bradbury is about a futuristic world, post apocalypse where there are no humans left. It is set in 2026 in a mechanical house. There are supposed to be 4 people living in the house but they all died. The people were playing around when it happened. The house still thinks there are people around because of how it was coded which raises a sense of mechanical paranoia. At the end, the hearth is burning and a stray ash sets the whole place on fire. The way the story is written gives the fire an evil side and makes it seem alive even though it's not. The house tries to put out the fire but it doesn’t succeed and everything eventually burns down. This story teaches us about what highly advanced science can bring us. It can make life easier and more comfortable but on the downside it can lead to conflict and mass murder. At the end everyone becomes a cyber punk which isn’t good.

Advanced science continuously enhances our lives through the creation of more convenient and efficient inventions each day.Self driving cars and AI are just the tip of the iceberg. In the story, there is a mechanical house that does everything a human can do but faster and better. The house can cook breakfast, set timers, and repeat commands until it can't anymore. This shows in the future what could happen and help make life more comfortable. Today we only have cars, planes, simple robots, virtual reality, sustainable technology, facial recognition, and 3-d printing to help us, which is nothing compared to the time this story was written. Our technology doesn’t talk to us to make it feel more human but theirs does and allows them to customize their options. Automated homes and modern robots represent just a fraction of the innovations advanced science offers, with countless more possibilities ahead.

While advanced science can simplify daily tasks, its misuse can lead to negative consequences.It can be used for harmful intentions and make even more powerful weapons. As shown in the story, the city is layered with rubble and ashes which we can only imagine is from powerful bombs, war, or even AI machines. These could all be possible realities in this future with no life. “Here, as in a photograph, a woman bent to pick flowers. ” this shows us the past before the annihilation of human kind and this; “The house stood alone in a city of rubble and ashes. This was the one house left standing.” is what the setting is like after the destruction. Only rubble, ashes, an atmosphere filled with radiation that is uninhabitable, and without life. The future without humans and complete demolition may be the final result we get from highly advanced science if we develop it without caution.

Advanced technology may lead to disastrous risks and even bring out the worst in humanity. This gradually transforms society into a cyberpunk dystopia - a world of high-tech, crime, and social decay. This cyberpunk future ended abruptly when nuclear war wiped out humanity. We can see traces of the technology left behind like the house. Movies like Ready Player One are in the cyberpunk genre and show hackers or gamers doing anything and everything to get what they want. The people are allowed to do what they want which could be because of a weak government that can't do much to stop the criminals. The future in these stories are usually set in a world where the line between the real world and virtual reality is blurred. Most of the action is set online and can change your life.Uncontrolled technological advancement could create a cyberpunk world, ultimately leading humanity to self-destruct.

The story focuses on an automated house which still thinks people are alive and does everything normally. This story gives us an example of what highly advanced science can bring us. It can bring us comfort and convenience, for example, the house that does everything for us. Even though this is the good side of advanced science, on the other hand it can help us build more powerful weapons capable of doing immense damage to lots of people. Finally, cyberpunk is the setting of most technologically advanced societies where lots of action takes place online and in virtual reality and the real world is hard to differ from.
