The story There’s Nothing Like Baseball written by Angela Johnson talks about a girl who very very very likes baseball. The girl loves baseball so much she thinks there’s nothing like baseball. In the story, Emma and her friend Jamal are on the same team. When they walk home they are still throwing the ball and caching it! If we like something so much we can show it from what we do, we say, and we show. This can tell us that we like these subjects or things. When something we are hoping is coming, we will think there is nothing more important than those things.

If we like something so much, we will say there’s nothing like it but there is something that is more important, it is love and friendship. When we and our friends are fighting for something we both want, only one of us will get our wish. At that time our feelings will be bad, we need to use a good way to solve the problem because love and friendship are the most important thing. In the story, when Emma and Jamal are talking about the shortstop, they both want to be it. At home Emma feels sad, she wants Jamal to be the shortstop. At last none of them are 

the shortstop. It's a happy ending. There’s nothing like love and good friends. If we lose them, we will feel so awful that the snowball battle is not fun, the snowman doesn’t smile, and the taste of spaghetti isn’t yummy anymore. So cheer up, our parents and good friends all love us and forever. I think there are many things that are important, but they can not compare to love and friendship. 

Without try, the answer will always be LOSE. Try it, we will have a 50% chance to win. Let’s try our best to face everything! Just like when we are learning, we might have a problem so we don't want to do it, but when we have a try, we will find out that it is actually a piece of cake. In the story, when Emma plays on Rex's House of Fins and Fur baseball team, she, Rex, and Sophie think the same in baseball. They think you should try to be the best,but most important to them is that everybody gets to play. Trying our best is a great idea, we can use it to solve many things like learning, playing, and working. Always try our best when we do something, but most important is that everybody gets to try.    

If our friends are in our team, that can make our team stronger. Because our team has a pair of players that have the same idea. In the story, her friend Jamal is playing in the same team with her, they are good friends. I bet they can win the baseball match. This can make them closer to each other. Good friends can match together, they are a pair just like twins. So when they are playing in a match or something, they often can make their team win. If good friends are in the same team, when they win the game, they will be very happy. If they lose, someone will laugh at them, but good friends will help each other get past the sad times. 

The author tells us how to write a good story. The main character really loves baseball, she can tell it from the things that happen. The baseball that she likes is coming, everything seems wonderful. In the story, “ When the ice dripped drops from the roof. When the tulips in the park poked through the ground. ” She knows baseball’s season is here. “In the morning I wake up thinking about the baseball field. I can almost smell the freshly cut grass. I eat breakfast smiling. I think about the sound the bats make rattling together in the bat bag.” From her mind, smelling, taste, and hearing we can know she loves baseball. We can infer from everything that she is fond of baseball , like the things that happen and her five senses that all can show her passion on baseball. She is expecting baseball to come soon. When we are happy everything will look beautiful.
