There's Nothing Like Baseball is written by Angela Johnson. It talks about the friendship between Emma and Jamal and their passion for sports. Emma and her best friend Jamal all like to play baseball games. Regardless of wind or rain Emma and Jamal all will go to watch the baseball game and they join the same baseball team! But their friendship is tested when they all want to be the shortstop. Finally, the coach wants Nikki to be the shortstop because she can jump high and make the best plays. Through this experience, Emma and Jamal get more closer.
We will be very happy when our good friends are on the same team. First, we will understand each other so we can have more seamless cooperation in the game when we play the games. Second, we can have more fun with our friends when we play games and we can have a good time with our friends, too. Last but not least, when we win the games, we will have someone to celebrate with us when we lose the games, we have someone to comfort each other. If our best friends are on the same team we will be very happy.
Everyone has a unique passion. For example, someone likes to play chess, football, or baseball because we have different hobbies. In the story, Emma and Jamal think that there is nothing like baseball because they love baseball. But for us, we will think that there will be something more important than baseball. There is nothing more important than our hobby in the world. The belief in sport is that everyone should try their best. If we love some sport, when we play this game, we will try our best to win the game. In the story, Emma and Jamal love to play baseball so they will try their best. But for us we love other sports, so we will try our best to win the game, and enjoy the game. So winning is not important, if we love something, we need to try our best, have fun, and enjoy the game.
In conclusion, this story is a heartwarming story. From this story, I learned many things. First, when our good friend is on the same team we will be very happy. Next, there is nothing like our hobby in the world. Finally, the belief in sport is that everyone should try their best. I also learned many writing skills. The author uses 5 senses to describe Emma’s passion for baseball. So I like this story and recommend it to you, and hope you like it.
