Story Review of The Tiny Seed

The informational story The Tiny Seed is written by Eric Carle. It talks about a tiny seed growing up to a giant flower. In Autumn, the tiny seed is blown away by a strong wind, flying in the air and trying to find a place to grow up. Finally, the tiny seed falls down on the ground.  In Winter, the tiny seed is covered by snow, but a hungry mouse might eat it. In Spring, the tiny seed grows into a plant, but a big fat weed might take all the sunlight and the rain away. Later, the tiny plant has leaves and becomes a flower. In Summer, the tiny seed keeps growing and becomes taller. The giant flower attracts the birds, bees, and butterflies. When in autumn, the flower is fading. But the seeds are sailing again. 

The tiny thing may not look good at the beginning but it could become big or excellent at the end. You never know what is going to happen to the tiny thing so we need to have hope for the tiny thing. At the beginning the tiny seed is smaller than other seeds. But at the end the tiny seed becomes the tallest flower people have ever seen. The tiny seed turns into a giant flower. When people are tiny, like me, their parents would be very worried about them. They would ask if the tiny child eats or sleeps enough. They would worry if the tiny child would be laughed at school. But the tiny child is fine, just like a regular normal kid. The tiny child would not be forever small. Their parents need to have a little hope for their tiny child. They never know what their tiny child will become. Being tiny is not a bad thing. People need to have the belief that the tiny thing one day would grow stronger and taller in the future. 

Growing slowly is not a big problem because everything has its own pace. We need to be patient. Sometimes when things grow fast, those things might become problematic or get hurt. The other seeds grow fast. But a big fat weed takes away the sunshine and rain from them. When they grow into a plant, a child steps on them. When they become flowers, they are picked by a boy. On the other hand, although the tiny seed grows slowly, it grows up safely and does not get any hurt. If the tiny seed starts too early, it is possible the tiny seed could not enjoy much of the nutrition it needs for growing, like the sunshine or the rain. Also, because the tiny seed grows slower, it has more chance to grow safely into a plant. It could avoid the risk of a big fat weed taking away the sunlight and rain. There is no need to do things in a rush because good things take time to grow up. 

Every living plant on Earth has its own life cycle beginning from a small tiny seed and ending with the reproduction of the new seeds. The life cycle of a plant starts with a seed, then seeding, young plant, mature plant, flower, and finally fruit. Later, the fruit generates new seeds. 

At the beginning of the story, it is autumn, the seeds are sailing. At the end of the story, it is autumn again. The new seeds are sailing again. The life cycle of a plant helps people see the nature of magic. A plant life cycle is important because it explains to people how a plant grows from a seed, becomes a sprout, creates leaves, turns into an adult plant, and makes fruit. The fruit or flowers attract birds or butterflies. Those birds and butterflies help to spread the seeds from the fruit or flowers. Then a new cycle of a plant begins. If there is no plant life cycle, there would be no food for animals or no fruit for people to eat. This will make nature not balanced. The plant life cycle is necessary for people and animals so the natural world is balanced.

“The Tiny Seed” is an informational story about a tiny seed growing. At the beginning the tiny seed wants to find a place to grow up, but there are some risks. At the end, the tiny seed grows up and becomes a giant flower. From reading this story, I learned three things. First, being small right now is not a bad thing. You never know what is going to happen in the future. Maybe I will become a giant thing. People just need to have a little hope for the small things. Also, it is okay to grow slowly. There is no rush to do things quickly because good things take time. In addition, the life cycle of a plant helps me see the magic of nature. The life cycle of a plant is essential because it keeps nature balanced. I suggest children go to the library to read this story.
