Once there lived a boy, he read about a boa constrictor eating a rat, he then drew one eating elephant, and showed it to his parents. They thought it was a hat, then he drew it again but more clearly, the adults were not amused, and told him to stop drawing and start focusing on his work. And so, he listened, and became a pilot. One time, he crashed into a planet, the one of the Little Prince. They talked, and drew. Then the prince had to leave. He went to many planets, even Earth. He learned a lot of lessons to, imagination, love, and that there are multiple problems in the adult world, I will be discussing all of them.
Imagination is something kids and adults alway have, it’s simple like a dream or a song. Some people might have better imagination than others, but we will still always have it. What is the difference between a kid's imagination and adults’? In the story, the narrator drew a snake eating an elephant, after he read about one eating a mouse. We know that he didn’t copy from the book because he drew a different animal. We might figure out that younger people might have a weirder imagination because they are not busy at all. Adults have many goals, make money, take care of children, housekeeping etc. But kids on the other hand, have less goals, they have more time to imagine. Also, imagination could help adults to profit on making money, song, arts, and cartoons all need imagination. Children see magic because they look for it.
Love is the most important thing in life. It strengthens bonds, and relationships, gathers people together, helps one communicate, and teaches one to defend something. Imagine if it disappears? A person without love will not survive. In the story, the little prince loves his rose a lot, and so he cares for her, and protects her. If one doesn’t have love, then he would not survive because he would not have parents who protect them, and teach him from the dangers of the world, he would be careless and worthless, he cannot be relied on, and doesn’t know how to gain trust. Once one loves another, then they would be loyal, and help each other. In ancient times that's what people relied on, just like today. Love recognizes no barriers.
Not only are there problems in the world of children, but there are also many in the world of adults. Adults will not do something if it is not useful, they can’t if you let an adult watch a video on a shark eating a fish, and draw a picture summarizing it, they would probably just say that it’s useless, and would reject the offer. But for kids, many kids will take it as a challenge, and try. Also, many adults will only focus on work on kids, they try to make them have a higher chance of succeeding in life. Why is it bad? In the story, the parents of the pilot told him to stop drawing and focus on his work. It is bad because adults should let kids choose what they want to be. If they like dancing: dancer, drawing: artist, singing: singer, if they work hard, it can make as much money as an ordinary job can. An adult is just a mature child.
In conclusion, I think this story is good because of all the themes it has. I also enjoy the plot, and how the author writes the story from the perspective of the little boy. I don’t like how short this story is, and also because the plot was short. For example, how the little prince just travels a few planets, even if the author made a good description of the planets, it was very short. I think the author could make the story and plot a little longer and it would be perfect. I recommend this book even if it is a little shorter than other stories.
