The story Head Body Legs retold by Won-Ldy Paye and Margaret H. Lippert is a fake tale. Long ago, Head was all by himself. One day, when Head hit a cherry tree, he met Arms. He persuaded Arms to attach to him. When they were napping, Body squashed them. This time Head persuaded Body to attach to them. Later, they swam across a river, and tried to reach some mangoes. But they were not tall enough to get mangoes. Then they met Legs. Head persuaded Legs to attach to them to get mangoes together. At last, they successfully got mangoes to eat.
Everyone has advantages and disadvantages, because we are all different. Everyone is good at different things and no one is perfect. We don’t need to feel bad if we are worse than others, because we should know that we must be better at something else. In the story, Head could see but couldn’t pick things up. Arms couldn’t see but could grab stuff. Legs couldn’t see but could walk. They all have their own features, which makes them special and different from others. Their advantages and disadvantages make them unique.
Teamwork is valuable because it is very effective and efficient. Everyone is different, so we can work together to combine our advantages and avoid our disadvantages. In the story, Head could see, Arms could pick things up, Body could swim, Legs could walk. They combined together to get mangoes. It’s impossible for them to make it separately. Each of them use their advantages to achieve their goal. If you want to complete a more different project, you need teamwork and cooperation to make it.
We need good invitation skills if we want to work together with others. We need to tell others our advantages and then their advantages, and also the benefits of joining us. In the story, Head invited everyone by saying he could do something he was good at and others could do something they were good at. Head is a very good inviter. He invites Arms, Body, and Legs to join him. Good invitation skills are useful if you want to team up with someone.
The story Head, Body, Legs talks about the teamwork between them and how they got some mangoes and cherries. The story talks about teamwork and that everyone is different so it's good to work together. We can use our advantages and avoid disadvantages to achieve bigger goals. If we want to work with someone, we need good invitation skills to make others be a team with us and to get a win-win situation.
