The goose story is written by Cari Best. In this book, a goose lost a leg and so abandoned by a flock of geese. But when the little girl Emma sees the one-footed geese, Emma goes on to help the one-footed geese because she has hurt her one leg. In only two weekends, the one-footed geese learn how to use one foot to swim, walk, and fly. Emma's leg recovered at the end of the story, and the one-footed geese had a husband and seven goslings.

In this world, no one can decide whether we are strong or smart besides ourselves, because no person can be perfect, so we can make up for our disadvantages. When we have a weakness, we need to change it because we need to adapt and learn to overcome the difficulties by ourselves to make ourselves strong. To make us strong is an important thing to do, and it can make us braver and assertive when we do something.  In the story, the one-foot goose lost a foot, but she learns what she can do and knows how to use her one foot to do so. The little girl named Emma helped the one-foot goose because Emma hurt her leg too, so she doesn't want the same thing to happen to others. We can use them to overcome difficulties to make us strong when our friends support us, too. Like in the story, Emma planted some corn so the one-foot goose could eat the thing, so this means Emma wants to help the one-foot goose. When we overcome difficulties and our support, it can make our inner feelings stronger.

Not only animals but also human, we could not give up when we have troubles. Because we cannot avoid difficulties, so we need to face it. Don't be afraid of it, our inner self is our strong backing. Although we are small in the face of difficulties, as long as we work hard to solve them, they will disappear or become very small before our eyes. In the story, the one-footed goose doesn’t give herself, she instead learns how to use only one foot to do anything. Emma hurt her leg too. When she hurt her leg, she was only 3 years old, and her father and mother didn’t give up on Emma. No matter Emma and one-footed geese. When they were hurt in their leg, they all chose to struggle against difficulties. We should never give up when we face problems because that’s how we learn to survive in life.

Detailed description and indirect description make the story more fun. Indirect description makes the readers personally be on the scene, guess what the author wants to express, and feel the author's feelings. The detailed description makes the readers feel they are in the scene, too. In the story, the author writes:I'm the first in my family to spot thered-breasted robin. The smell of oniongrass is not far behind. Soon after, I feel thewarm sun that turns the skating rink backinto a pond. Then one morning in May, I find a big surprise. There is the goose with one foot and-seven babies!Seven babies with fourteen feet, Peeping and prancingand flapping and following. Right behind their papa. The author writes this sentence because he wants to make the readers feel that they are in the scene and the readers can guess what the season. A excited story needs detailed description and indirect description .

In conclusion, this is a heartwarming story. From this story, I learned many things. First, in this world, no one can decide whether we are strong or smart besides ourselves, because no person can be perfect, so we can make up for our disadvantages. Next, when we were living in the world, we could not give up when we had trouble because we could not give up on ourselves. Finally, Detailed description and indirect description make the story more fun. . So I recommend this story to you and hope you like it.
