Big Brown Rooster was looking forward to baking a strawberry shortcake, just like his great-grandmother. He was very excited, and Turtle, Iguana, and Pig decided to join. Turtle started to read the recipe, Iguana did the orders, Rooster assisted them, and Pig was doing nothing but asking every time if he could eat the cake. The steps were awkwardly done since Iguana did not understand many ingredients and actions, but Big Brown Rooster gave a helping hand. Iguana’s carelessness also led to the fate of their first shortcake, when he slipped. Pig ate all of the shortcake, which made everyone hate him. However, Rooster was calm and told everyone to bake a shortcake again. The mistakes and solutions that they have done are as follows:
Mistake: Mixed the homophones flour and flower.
Solution: Pour the flour, not to take a flower
Mistake: Mixed the homograph sift.
Solution: Use the sifter.
Mistake: Mixed the meaning of measure.
Solution: Measure the flour using the measuring cup, not a ruler.
Mistake: Misunderstood the meaning of tablespoon and teaspoon.
Solution: Tablespoons and teaspoons are not under tables and teapots; they are special spoons for measuring amounts.
Mistake: Misunderstood the meaning of stick by not using context.
Solution: The stick means a stick of butter, not a tree branch.
Mistake: Used the wrong utensil to cut the butter.
Solution: Use two table knives to cut the butter, not a scissor.
Mistake: Misunderstand the meaning of beat.
Solution: Use an eggbeater, not a baseball bat.
Mistake: Misunderstood what two-thirds of a cup means.
Solution: Measure the milk, don’t saw off the cup.
Mistake: Counted 15 minutes instead of using the timer.
Solution: Use the timer.
Mistake: Yanked at the shortcake, so it fell down.
Solution: Carry it carefully.
Teamwork improves productivity among people so that the work can be done faster, and it can also form new ideas by mixing each person’s ideas. Cooperation can boost the progress of the group’s work so that they finish faster. Rooster, Turtle, Iguana, and Pig worked together to bake a strawberry shortcake. The group finished the work efficiently without spending too much time on one task, so the workload wouldn’t be too heavy. Cooperation keeps the tasks spread out, so tasks are carried out and completed effortlessly and quickly.
Carelessness can create inconvenience that may cause other people to distrust you; it can be very annoying to other people. A well-done task of everyone’s hard work can be turned into direct waste in just seconds by carelessness. When the Iguana carelessly slipped and spilled the cake, all the hard work and energy used was wasted. It is important to try not to be careless since it makes time turn into waste and efforts change into no use at all. Carelessness can be a great action that causes other people to hate you; it can make your life go all wrong.
Friendship is a way to be respectful and kind; it can keep the bonds between you and your friend steady and stable. Friendship is a way to show support to other friends who are sad and who are alone. When Rooster had to cook the shortcake alone, Turtle, Iguana, and Pig joined. Supporting others makes them feel better, and eventually, they will help you too. Friendship can comfort other people who need help, and these bonds would also let other people, in return, help you when you need comfort.
Teamwork is what keeps you and your members together. It increases friendship between each other. Friendship is what makes me help you and you help me happen. However, carelessness can destroy these types of friendships. Carelessness can waste time and effort and can annoy your friends.
