The story "Cook-a-Doodle-Doo!" is a great book written by: Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crummel. It talks about a little rooster named Rooster who is sick of eating the same thing everyday: Chicken feed. So inspired by his grandmother's famous recipe, he decides to try to cook. The rooster can't get his friends the dog, goose, and cat to join but the rooster does get a pig, lizard and a turtle to join who each brings their unique skills to the kitchen. As they gather all the ingredients, the group faces many mistakes, but they learn the importance of teamwork.

“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” Even though when we work alone, we can do some good stuff following ourselves without much complaining from others, you can’t do much in limited time and you might need ideas. In the story, the rooster forms a team to make the shortcake, they succeed and even being together they make mistakes, if the rooster works on its own he might have to restart a bunch of times. Teamwork is perfect, there might be a little arguing and voting but it makes things faster since there are lots of us who can each work on a little part at the same time. If one gets stuck, then there are other people who can help and brainstorm new ideas. It is okay to work alone on some projects that are small and not too hard, but if the project is big, a helping hand can really come in handy.
Mistakes are a natural part of life, often happening to learn. No matter how hard we try, mistakes will still happen. Sometimes we do poorly because mistakes happen. It's important to know that no one is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes. In the story, the turtle, pig, rooster and the iguran always make mistakes on every step, but they learn from their errors and now can make a cake without many mistakes. Instead of seeing mistakes as failures, we can see them as learning. By seeing what went wrong, we can gain knowledge and stop making the same mistakes over and over again.
Friends play an important role in our life, helping, consoling us, and bringing joy. Friends are like bosses of each other but instead of demanding to do something, we ask and won’t get upset if they refuse. In the story, the rooster’s friends, the pig, iguana and the turtle help him make a cake, but the dog, cat and the goose are not real friends, who tease the rooster and don’t help the rooster. Having friends helps us feel connected and understood, if others don’t agree with us, our friends can help. But sometimes our friends can still be changing and not agree with us. One of the benefits of friendship is the emotion we give each other. Friendship is something that everyone needs for console and support.
This is an interesting educational story that talks about a little rooster named Rooster who is sick of eating the same thing everyday: Chicken feed. The rooster gets his friends and makes a cake, they make lots of mistakes. The cake falls but they make another one. First, Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships. With teamwork and sticking together on tour, anything is possible. Second, Mistakes can’t be avoided, we make them and we learn from them. Last but not least, friends play an important role in our life by helping us and supporting us. This story is surely critical for us to read.
