Story Review of Big Red Lollipop

The story of the‘ big red lollipop’ is written by Rukhsana Khan. Talks about a little girl called Rubina who was invited to a birthday party. But her little sister Sana wants to go too. Amy, their mom said that she must bring Sana. At the birthday party, Sana must win all the games, and she even cried when she fell in the middle of the musical chair. When it was the end of the party, everyone got a big bag of presents. The next morning, Sana steals Rubina’s lollipop. What’s worse? Ami thinks Sana is right. Rubina is sad because everyone in her school knows that if they invite her to the party, she will bring Sana. Rubina had not got any inventions for a long time. Then, Sana got invited to a birthday party. Amy wants her to bring Maryam, but Rubina said that she doesn’t need to bring her. At the end, Sana gave Rubina a big green lollipop.

We should try to be fair in our life, fairness is very important. If we are not fair, or we are the person not getting fairness, how will we feel? We will probably feel like why can they have better things than me? In the story, Ami told Rubina to bring Sana to her friend’s party. She also asked Sana to bring Maryam and Rubina when she got an invention from her friend. Mom is being really fair. They can all go to each other’s party. What if mom lets Sana go to Rubina’s party but Rubina and Maryam can’t go to Sana’s party? Rubina will wonder why she is the one that has to bring little sister and get no inventions for a long time. I think that it is really important to be fair, and everyone needs fairness.

When something makes us feel bad or we don’t like it, we should not give or do anything to others too. When we are feeling bad about something, why do we want someone else to feel unhappy? In the story, Rubina is a good child. She knows that it is really an annoying thing to bring her little sister to the party. So, she told mom not to force Sana to bring Maryam. She knows it won’t feel good bringing little sisters, she doesn’t want Sana to feel as bad as her. She thinks about others. She could just make Sana bring Maryam and understand how she feels when she must bring Sana. Sana made her feel bad at the party and got no inventions anymore. I think that we should not do things that we don’t like to others, it will not make us feel better, it will only make others sad.

We need to learn to be grateful, to thank others that have helped us. When we thank others when they help us, they will feel very good. And it will also show our manners.They will help us again if we thank them. In the story, Rubina tried to persuade mom not to make Sana bring Maryam to the party. When we stand at Sana’s side, Rubina is. Helping her to enjoy the birthday party. Sana is thankful, so she keeps her favorite lollipop and gives it to Rubina. Sana thanked Rubina with her favorite thing, it means that she’s thankful. When Rubina sees this, she’s happy, so she chooses to become friends with Sana. She may help Sana again. If Sana doesn't thank her, Rubina may be angry and will not help her anymore. I think it is important to be thankful.

In conclusion, I think that we should be fair to everyone in life. And we should also receive the same amount of things and get fairness from others. Fairness will make our whole life better. The person that did not receive as much as others will be really sad and angry. We should not do things that we don’t like to others. WE also should not give things that we don’t like to others. Things that we don’t like, others may also hate it. It's enough that we get bad feelings and get hurt, why would we want anybody else to get hurt too? WE also need to be grateful. When others help us, we should show them that we are very thankful. If we do that, others may help us some more, or be friends with us. This will make others happy to help us.
