The story “Beatrice’s Goat” is written by Page McBrier, and it talks about a girl named Beatrice whose family is getting a gift goat. At first they have to do a lot of work just for the goat, Beatrice at first has no interest in the goat, she think it is useless because it can’t get up in the morning and do chores for them or something but soon after it produces milk and has baby goats it becomes useful, they can milk the goat and sell the milk. After all the work, they finally raised enough money for school. They are all happy that the goat brings them milk, money, and happiness. And that is the magnificent story of “Beatrice’s Goat”.
Education is very necessary for all of us, and we are never too old to learn. Every person needs to learn when they are small so they can have a perfect life when they grow up. In the story, Beatrice spent her savings on school, out of everything she could have bought, blankets, a better bed, and food; she spent it on school. First things first. Learning is very important; it can determine your future, whether to be a wealthy, clever, knowledgeable person or a poor, old, skill less beggar. Education is always crucial and necessary for a better future and educated life.
Teaching a man to fish is better than giving him a fish. After finishing eating or doing something, they just wait for more to come. We live a life and help people, but when helping, it may be wise to choose carefully what to give. In the story, Beatrice’s family got a goat, they could have got money, but money will burn, it can just go away after being used to buy things but a goat will not go after taking away its milk, it will stay and make more milk. It is the same deal with the fish, you can give one fish and he will just eat it up and want more like spending money but if you can teach him how to fish he will eat the fish and if he wants more he can just catch more fish instead of just lying there waiting, begging for more fish. Giving a person something they do not know how to get is unclever, also resulting in a loss of our own “fish” while the other person gets more “fish”.
First thing first—the most important thing you need to do, what needs to be done as soon as possible. We need to complete the tasks as soon as possible because you don’t know what will happen to you if you don’t do it, it can ruin your life like how education can determine your future. In the story, Beatrice really wants to go to school, it is the “first thing first” for her. After she got enough money, she directly went to buy it for school. She wants to have warm blankets, a new bed, and much more that she can afford but school is more important than other things she can buy. She just had to buy it. Having a priority means canceling out the other tasks to make this one seem major, critical and vital. First things first are the things that really really matter, it is usually good if finished making it the priority, key to success.
This is a great story that talks about a girl named Beatrice whose family is getting a gift goat. They have to work for the goat. After the goat comes it provides milk that is sold into cash and makes everyone happy. This brilliant story doesn't just have good content but also has some terrific themes like first, education is very important for all of us, and we are never too old to learn. Second, Teaching one to do something is better to do just for them, after all “teaching a man to fish is better than giving him a fish”. Last but not least, first thing first, there are important things that have to be done that may not be gotten immediately but will be done despite being such an important thing. These are just a few of a bunch of themes and lessons you can learn from this great story!
