Understand the boy's situation - Point of Debate on Mystic Horse

The story Mystic Horse was written and illustrated by Paul Goble. It talks about a young boy and an old woman who were very poor as they could nearly never eat meat and were always picking up any clothing they could ever find. No one ever helped them or even cared to donate any meat because they would gain no benefit and also because they didn’t join the buffalo hunt. They couldn’t join the buffalo hunt because their horse became old and ill and it can’t even walk for a long time. One day war breaks down and the boy finds out that the horse can talk. He then decided to participate but the horse gave him the condition to attack only four times. But the boy didn’t listen and the horse died after getting shot by an arrow.

The boy was right because he wanted to prove to the others that he was right. For example even though the horse died because of the man, it had been a good sacrifice as he had proven the people there wrong as he had nearly saved his companions fighting along him. If he hadn’t done so, his grandmother and him would always be laughed at and looked down at all because they weren’t that wealthy. He didn’t just do it for himself, he descided to sacrifice the horse for the sake of the old woman who also got mocked because she and her son was too poor and couldn’t even affored to buy or eat meat. This is why the boy was the one who was right.

The boy did the right thing as if he hadn’t been beave enough to risk losing his horse, then the enemies would distroy the whole entire village. For example, imagine if the boy was too much of a coward, this would have made most people die of dispear as many people living by were in risk of dying. But because of the boy’s bravery and courage, the people their were safe. Sure he lost his horse but as a reward, he saved many peoples life showing that he is willing to sacrifice something he truly cared about for his people. This is why the boy was right.

Even though the horse died in the story, the boy made the right decision as he was optimistic. All because of how opptimitic he was, the boy had saved a village. When the others were desperate and were about to give up, the boy and the horse stiked and attaked defending their village. The bravery they had shown saved everyone and proved to people that they were better than what anyone expected. Their optimism not only saved the village but also inspired others to help them make the win. This showcases that sometimes it doesn’t take someone rich to solve a problem, it takes someone thats optimistic and determined.
