New Technology - AI

AI, short for Artificial Intelligence, is intelligence exhibited on machines, particularly on computer systems.  It is a field of research in computer science that develops and studies methods and software that enable machines to perceive their environment and use learning and intelligence to take actions that maximize their chances of achieving defined goals. Such machines may be called AIs. Some high profile AIs examples are Chat GPT ( a generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched in 2022）and AI art. Some websites can also use AI crawling and indexing web pages across the internet, extracting useful data like text, images and links to help us research. AI can also make our lives easier. 

AI has many functions that can be beneficial to us. AI will make our lives easier if we use it properly. The first benefit is Reduction in Human Error. One of the most significant benefits of Artificial Intelligence is that it can significantly reduce errors and increase accuracy and precision. For example, now in Microsoft Word, the computer would automatically point out or change our spelling and grammar mistakes. AI can also make its own descisions, ideas, or opinions. It can learn by itself; it gets stronger and stronger each day. Today, our everyday lives depend entirely on mobile devices and the internet. We utilize a variety of apps, including Google Maps, taking selfies, making calls, responding to emails, etc. Using various AI-based techniques, we can also anticipate today’s weather and the days ahead. AI can help us in daily life. 

AI can improve our lives in several ways. AI can automate repetitive and tedious tasks, such as data entry, customer service, and accounting, and perform them faster and more accurately than humans. This can save time, money, and resources, and improve the quality and consistency of the output. We can use an easy job as an example. We all need to sort things on our computer (if we are an adult or teenager). If we sort it by ourselves, it would take at least many minutes. On the contrary, the fastest and the most powerful AI or file sorter may only take a few seconds. AI can also control other robots to help us do the easy jobs where humans who do that can do other jobs. AI can make our lives more convenient. 

Even though AI is very strong and powerful, there are still some places where it can improve. One area that needs more work is natural language processing (NLP). This is the ability of computers to understand human language and respond in a way that is natural for humans. Currently, NLP is not very good at understanding context or nuances in language, which can limit its usefulness in many applications. AI needs to also develop translating immediately. We need to also improve our control on the AI so that it doesn’t malfunction. Some technologists think that if we don’t control AI, they might start to attack humans or even take over the world. We don’t want this to happen. We need to fix some disadvantages of AI while not letting it get too powerful. 

In conclusion, the first new technology that jumps in my mind is AI (artificial intelligence).AI is a computer system which develops on software by learning and improving itself every second. Websites apply AI for convenience to visitors. For example, the website may summarize the important information for us when we are researching. AI has many functions that are beneficial to us. They can make our lives easier and less stressful. However, we should reinforce the control of AI in case of any digital problems.
