Let’s talk about weather

The changes in the air are called weather. Sometimes the weather is sunny and fair, but sometimes it can be wild weather. The wild weather is dangerous and we can’t stop it. The wild weather can destroy the houses, trees and power supply. It is important to learn the weather and the warning of wild weather, so we can do some preparation in advance and keep safe when wild weather is coming.

 There are different kinds of wild weather, such as thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes and blizzards.

 a.  Thunderstorms are heavy rain showers. It has lightning. Lightning is very dangerous and it can set fire to a tree or a house.

b. Tornadoes come from thunderstorms. The winds in a tornado whirl hundreds of miles per hour. It can destroy houses and buildings.

c. Hurricanes are the biggest storms of all. Hurricanes happen during the summer and early fall. Their dangerous winds blow at speeds between 74 and 200 miles per hour. It may wash away shorelines, boats, and houses.

d. Blizzards are huge winter snowstorms. Two or three inches of snow fall every hour. It will destroy the power supply and stop the airports and highways.

 A warning of wild weather is very important. A warning can sometimes even save our lives, we need to learn to watch warnings. The story tells us if thunder booms a second or two after we see lightning, that is a warning. An early tornado alert is called a tornado watch. A tornado warning means that a tornado has been seen. A warning of wild weather can save lives.

When the weather forecast tells us the next day there will be wild weather. When we watch the weather forecast, it tells us a lot of things. For example, when a tornado or blizzards is coming, we need to prepare more food and water. When a tornado or hurricanes is coming, we need to do something to protect our house from blowing away. In conclusion, weather forecasts are really useful.
