Ben Franklin, born in 1706 in Boston, also known as Funny Father, is a great person that influenced many people. He was most known when he even stole lightning! During that time, lightning always harms Ben Franklin’s neighbors, so he tried to lead lightning to another place. He connected a silk kite, a key and a string on top of a house, and he successfully led lightning into that string! Besides this, Ben Franklin was also a musician, a printer, a cartoonist, a world traveler, a newspaper owner, a shopkeeper, a soldier, and a politician. Anyway, no matter if Ben Franklin stole lightning and has many jobs or not, his greatness is mostly shown in his inventions, advanced thoughts and achievements.
The different inventions Ben Franklin designed for different uses can show his greatness. His understanding of different aspects and his comprehensive ability to solve things are all elements that are being reflected in his inventions. He invented Swim paddles and swim fins for swimming faster, a kite to pull him lickety-split across a big pond, a library chair and a wooden arm to let reading be easier, and an odometer, a second-handed clock, a pair of bifocals, the Franklin stove, and the glass armonica. These useful inventions can show that Ben Franklin has observed things around him, found a problem, made a solution to solve it, and he obtains the knowledge in different places. To conclude, Ben Franklin’s greatness is shown in his inventions because it reflects his comprehensive abilities and knowledge in different places.

For example, he wrote almanacs that gave advice about life, he told people when to plant crops, he studied whether there might be an eclipse or not, when the tides would be high or low, and even a daylight-saving time. All these advanced ideas are formed by his deep thinking, hard research and his wild imagination, but also his kind-heartedness when he treats other people. A person that accomplished a large number of great deeds and achievements like Ben Franklin is no doubt very great. An accomplishment is the mix of skills, ideas and knowledge, and these elements put in real life needs to combine with a person’s practical abilities and problem solving. Ben Franklin helped write the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution of The United States. He was the person who started the first lending library in America, and his post office was the first to deliver mail straight to people’s houses! Also, he helped to start a hospital, a free academy and a fire department! From these achievements above, it can be shown that Ben Franklin perfectly combined his knowledge into real life, and these helped him become greater. In all, Ben Franklin’s greatness is shown in his achievements because it is his skills and his practical abilities together.
Overall, Ben Franklin’s such greatness has influenced many people, and his spirit will never stop. His bold thinking, wild imagination, unlimited knowledge, and influential writing is the best proof of it. His inventions, advanced ideas, and achievements are just a little of all the great things he has done. Now, back to the most famous thing he was known for, stealing lightning. After knowing these great accomplishments Ben Franklin had done, there are still many people that believed that he successfully stole lightning because of luck and chance. There may really be chances that he didn’t succeed, but his idea, bravery, and belief will never be doubted.
