About Loyalty

When you are faithful to someone, you express loyalty. This loyalty can be shown towards lots of different people or morals. The story Thank you m’am is about a woman and a boy where the boy tries robbing the women but she stops him easily. The woman could have reported him to the police but instead showed passion and after she fed him, she let him go. The highwayman is about a infamous robber who is in love with a girl named Bess. Bess dies after a jealous lover tells the king about the highwayman. Bess dies trying to warn the highwayman about the king's men. The Good Samaritan is about a boy named Rey whose friends help an old man called Mr.sanchez with his chores. Mr.Sanchez always says he will give them something if they do it but he usually doesn’t or just gives them something smaller than what he said. Rey grows up and when he sees Mr.Sanchez struggling with a tire, he pulls over and helps him because he is a good person. Finally, in after twenty years, Jimmy arrests Bob using his friend when they met up because Jimmy is a cop and Bob is a criminal. These stories teach us about loyalty and people's beliefs.

There are different ways to express loyalty to a wide range of different beliefs and people. Loyalty can stem from personal experiences and beliefs or obligations related to one's country. In the highwayman, Bess was loyal to the highwayman because he was her love. She died for him based on compassion and personal love. In after twenty years, Jimmy expresses quiet loyalty by sending a friend to arrest Bob instead of himself. He is loyal to his job as a cop. Bob on the other hand is loyal to morale which led him to come back even with all the risk and it was twenty years later. In thank you m’am the woman was loyal to compassion because she felt bad for the boy. In The Good Samaritan, the boy who helped Mr.Sanchez is loyal to being a good person. This is  because even though Mr.Sanchez cheated him and his friends a lot of times, he still goes back and helps him with the tire. In the good samaritan, Rey was loyal to the man because it was the right thing to do. He is a good person and chooses to make the right choice. These different ways of showing loyalty show how complex human relationships can be and highlight the values that influence what we do.

Being loyal involves making many decisions and overcoming various obstacles. You must carefully consider whether to follow your personal morals or to do what is ethically right in a given situation, as this choice can often be complex and challenging. In After Twenty Years, Jimmy has to make a decision of whether not to choose friendship or personal morals. At the end, he chose personal morals but was still somewhat loyal to his friend so instead of himself arresting him, he sent his friend to arrest Bob. Bob has a dilemma, if he goes, he is a criminal so it is risky but he promised his friend so he chooses friendship over playing it safe. In the highwayman, Bess witnesses the cost of loyalty when she sacrificed her life so she can warn the highwayman. She could have been free if she didn’t do anything but she was loyal to her love. In The Good Samaritan, Rey could have left Mr.Sanchez but he was loyal to his ideals and not to his personal feelings. Overall he was loyal to just being a good person. In thank you ma’am, the women had to choose between giving the boy to the police or showing compassion. She chose to show compassion because that was what she believed in, second chances. Even though there might be obstacles, people will remain determined to work towards their loyalties.

Every day, many people show loyalty in different ways, whether it's with friends, family, or their jobs. No matter how old you are, what job you have, or who you are, everyone has the ability to be loyal, which shows how much we care about others and our responsibilities to them.In the highwayman, the main character is a thief but is still loyal to his love Bess. She on the other hand is a normal young woman put into a tough situation and is still loyal to the highwayman. Even a thief is loyal to his love. In the good samaritan, Rey has been fooled by Mr.Sanchez countless times so he is a victim. Nevertheless, he still helps him without needing anything in return. In after twenty years, Bob is a criminal and Jimmy is a cop. Bob is an wanted and is an adult yet still is loyal to his friendship and comes back twenty years later. In Thank You M’am, Roger is a young boy and a thief. He is taken in by the woman who is loyal to compassion. The thief is still loyal to his savior and doesn’t run when given the chance.  Everyone is loyal to something, whether it's family, friends, a job, or personal values. Without that sense of loyalty, people may feel lost in special circumstances.

The stories The Highwayman, After Twenty years, Thank you m’am, and the good samaritan all have people who exhibit loyalty. Loyalty is exhibited through faith in someone or a moral that you believe in. Everyone has loyalty no matter who they are, their age, gender, or vocation. There are many different styles of loyalty and this also has a range from love to friendship to responsibility to the nation. There are also moral dilemmas related to loyalty. There would be hard choices you need to make where the more loyal you are toa side, that is the one you choose. This is the situation Jimmy is in and he was loyal to his job as a cop rather than his friendship. There is a reason to cherish loyalty so you have a point in life that you can work on improving and help make decisions throughout your life.
